Conspiracy theories

Conspiracy theories target the financial system, especially the banks. They often claim that there is: -a single culprit to the 2008 crisis: the greedy financial system. -an obvious solution: regulate this corrupt financial system. -a main responsible for prolonging the crisis: financial institutions, which are bribing the Congress in order not to regulate the system. With the gap between rich and poor widening, and with the massive government deficit, some taxation may help. However, do not succumb to the temptation of the “taxation solution”.

Green energy project? Massive “investment” in education? Not so fast. The government can’t do much… only within the budgets financed by taxation, which shouldn’t burden the people. There are sound reasons to explain this.

It’s easy to think that the government should simply enforce the will of the people, by a simple majority. It can quickly slide into abusive rules against minorities and individuals. Thus, the government becomes a dictatorship to enforce these rules.
