Green high-tech must be transferred from rich to poor countries

In Short

Developing new green tech or new green infrastructure is expensive, more expensive than digging for coal or gas.

A Few Details

Due to past GHG emissions that accumulated in the atmosphere and in the oceans and will stay there for centuries, we must develop carbon-free tech for poor countries that threaten to develop their infrastructure with energy from burning their coal reserves as western countries have done it. Rich countries already saturated the skies with GHG emissions and can’t just prevent poor countries from burning their coal reserves. Poor countries, including China or India, demand compensation and expect help to build their own green energy infrastructure.

Rich countries must invest massively to develop such new technologies and infrastructure, after having burned cheap hydrocarbons for centuries. In fact, rich countries have already promised to help poor countries to transition to green energies.
