Technological breakthroughs needed
As the regulation-taxation approach has been slow to curb GHG emissions, some hope that technology ventures will save the day.
Green products must progress technologically to be:
-cheaper than gas and coal, even way cheaper than gas and coal if carbon taxation is so unpopular.
-mass-produced, using less resources and less energy to be produced.
Backup technologies are also developed in order to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, in case of delay in green product sales to replace dirty products.
Agriculture technologies can be included as space and energy for food will be part of the equation, especially to feed over 9 billion people by 2100. New approach are being developed. They range from vertical agriculture to GMOs.
